The Importance of Mental Health Awareness

The Importance of Mental Health Awareness

Mental health is a very important issue that often goes unnoticed, untreated, or sometimes is deemed as unimportant. Mental illness should not be isolated from physical health, as they both are extremely important and at times correlate with one another. 1 in 4 Americans suffer from some form of mental illness, that is over 50% of our population. While creating awareness may be a difficult thing to do we must take this very seriously. Creating awareness makes it easier to identify early and to proceed with the needed treatment. You never know when something like this could hit close to home affecting a loved one. We must stand together as a community to spread awareness for mental health and protect our loved ones.
